National
Security Agency Releases UFO Document
November 3, 2005.. The National Security Agency (NSA) released a document that
described a Freedom of Information Act Request (FOIA) that had been
made by the Citizens Against UFO Secrecy in 1980. The document
isn't really a release of information. The document
essentially describes why the NSA refused to release the UFO
documents requested by the UFO group. The document goes
through each group of documents relating to UFOs held by the NSA.
Some summarization of groups of documents is made. Many of the
documents contain "electronic eavesdropping" information performed
by the NSA. These documents describe UFO sightings by other
parties. Many documents contain information whereby UFOs were
tracked on radar. One document describes a yellow object
falling into the sea in 1966. Another document summarizes the
opinion of an NSA employee's views on UFOs. Much information
is "blocked out." (Remember some information describing why
the documents are classified is eliminated and that no actual
documents were released.) So it is untrue that the NSA
really released anything classified about UFOs. They released
a document describing reasons why UFO documents were withheld 25
years after the fact.
