The X47 is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) built by Northrup Grumman. The craft has flown several missions (16) from Edwards Air Force Base, California. (See map above.) The tests started on February 4, 2011 and ended in November, 2011. The Navy will begin testing the craft at Pax River Naval Air Station (NAS). Craft has a stealthy design and will be designed to land on aircraft carriers. Eventually the craft will have vertical takeoff and landing capability. Obviously this craft looks like a flying saucer when viewed from the side. Could some California flying disk sightings be attributed to tests from Edwards Air Force Base?
