Location of Sighting: South Bend, Washington
Dates of Sightings: March 27 to 29, 2016
Time of Sightings: Evening Hours
Description: Hello. I live in South Bend, Washington and for the last 3 nights in a row when my friend and I have went outside to walk my dog, we have seen strange white lights that look like bright stars, and they’re moving in the weirdest patterns. The first night there was 1 and the second night their were about 3 or 4, and tonight I only spotted the 1, but didn’t look for long. We showed a neighbor and he instantly said it was those Mexican festival light balloons being let loose in town. And the wind current is why they are moving like that. But I’m not so sure. They are flying exactly like a hummingbird flies, in quick and akward little movements and in generally the same type direction. Even with current, the lantern light would eventually get dimmer as they get farther away. These didn’t, they stayed like that. They persisted for hours. I don’t know what to think. Please let me know what it could be and if were the only ones seeing it. I appreciate it.
Response From Witness Regarding Investigator Input: Really? My phone wouldn’t even adjust so I could capture it. Do you know of a place to see what those look like at night so I can compare?
Response From Witness (Viewed Videos of Chinese Lanterns): Well, I did a Google search on Chinese Lanterns and did some investigating. That is not what we saw at all really. That is kind of bugging me right now. But Uh, anyways. Thanks.
Note: Given the above information it is doubtful that the witnesses saw Chinese Lanterns. Also the fact that the lights persisted for hours would eliminate this explanation.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
