Description: Our sighting occurred on August 22, 2014 in Miller Lake, OR. approximately 9:00 PM. It was a clear evening. We were facing a southerly direction and a bright star like light appeared well above the horizon, but we weren’t looking straight up. Above the tree line is best I can explain how high it was. It was brighter than any star. It was moving erratically with a jerking like motion across sky with the horizon. Literally it felt like it lit the sky. It was not a shooting star. It maintained consistent brightness until it stopped it’s moving pattern and my husband said he saw it turn to a red. I just saw it dim and finally disappear as if it left our solar system. It wasn’t flashing. It’s jerking pattern was a movement of quick speed then pause and then quick speed.
Never have My husband or I have seen or reported anything that we thought particular or unexplainable. We just know it was something we have never seen before. I would like to add that we live in an area where star gazing is quite easy. There are not a lot of lights. We pick out satellites, planets, shooting stars and planes. This was none of the above.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
