Location of Sighting: Clarkson, Washington
Date of Sighting: June 8, 2015
Time of Sighting: 10 PM PDT
Description: It was a couple of weeks back, but I don’t have an exact date and it was in the late evening. My wife and I viewed “what I thought” was a Rocket being launched and disappearing into space! We live in Clarkston, WA and were sitting on our deck facing north towards the Lewiston hill! (This is facing Spokane etc.) It is normal to see planes come over the hill at night for we are pretty much right under the flight path, but something struck me about this light: It just kept going straight up! It was way past the Lewiston hill (I am guessing) in the Moscow Pullman area” a long ways away. (At first I thought it was just another plane coming over the hill.) I started looking at it through my binoculars and could clearly see a fire trail” or bright light coming from it and it took a while for it to climb, but it just plain and simple looked like a rocket being launched. From my distance it looked way over a 100′ in height etc. I was pretty big! It was not like the shuttle rocket, but more ballistic! It was narrow, about like a minute man missile and I know we have a few of those in Montana.
I never heard anything on the news, and kind of kept my ear open for the past few weeks, but I hear nothing.
Have you had any other reports of this? Or am I just seeing things. I know the Spokane Airbase, Fairchild is up that direction and like I said, I am familiar with the usual, planes, satellites, helicopters etc., but this was not ordinary. It was way too far off for me to be sure, but like I said, it just went straight up and about the time (a rocket would enter space) the light went out and it disappeared! It was not fire works either. Like I said, it was a long ways away and had no blinking safety lights like all aircraft have. As soon as it reached orbit it disappeared! I kept scanning looking for a blink in the area or to see it again and nothing!
Anyway just thought I would let you know! maybe someone else has reported seeing it as well.
I’ll ask the wife if she remembers what day exactly and if you have any questions, feel free to reply.
Second Report From Witness: It was on the 8th of June and occurred at approximately 10:00 PM in the evening. I live in Clarkston, WA and was looking north directly over the Lewiston hill (from where I am at) actually lower than the hill so could not actually see it leave the ground. We just noticed the bright light! It was like a normal landing light on a plane except a whole lot farther off! That is when I realized it was not coming toward us, but going straight up and I grabbed my binoculars, but I could make out what looked like a staged rocket! It was pointy on the top wider towards the bottom, but was hard to see it from that distance and the smoke cloud under it was blocking my view of it! Could have it been something from WSU (Washington State University)? Perhaps it was a weather balloon being shot up, etc. I don’t want to make a stink out of it, but my wife clearly remembered when we both viewed it and we don’t drink or use drugs! And are god fearing folk, believe me for I tell the truth! The only thing is the date which I can’t be 100% sure of. We just got back from a vacation cut short, but it was my son’s birth day and we are pretty sure that’s the evening that we viewed it!
Note: Everything in the witness’s report suggests that this was a rocket. However, I am mystified on where it came from. There is a military operations area in NE Washington that is used by Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane to conduct maneuvers, but I don’t believe that they launch rockets. Perhaps it was some sort of military flare shot into the air. I really don’t know. I do believe that there is a conventional explanation, but I don’t have the answer. If anyone has information about this or may know what it is, please leave us a comment.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
