Location of Sighting: Dornoch, United Kingdom
Date of Sighting: May 31, 2015
Time of Sighting: 11:30 PM Local Time
Description: My wife & I were holidaying at “Grannies Heilan Hame” at Embo on the 31st May this year (2015) when we noticed a light travel across the sky from west to east. Since I was trying to get a clear picture of the moon at the time, I swept across & took a picture of the moving “star”. I was just thinking it was a simple jet aircraft or even a satellite crossing. I left it at that.
When back in our caravan I downloaded the picture & on zooming in, I saw numerous colored worm-like threads around the central object. I have sent these off to several sites with VERY limited interest.
It certainly was NOT a refraction of light from the moon. It was NOT hairs on my lenses. It could NOT be military drones as I really don’t think they would advertise their presence with bright colored lights. It was certainly not the result of my morphing the pictures.
Additional Information Provided By Witness: The sighting was at around 23:30. We were just walking the dog before going to bed. A report I received from UKUFO.com said that the anomalies were simply caused by camera-shake. I find this hard to digest as in that case wouldn’t ALL light sources have the same shape?
Thanks for taking the time to inspect my pictures.
Additional Information Provided by Witness: Hi William. I used a 18 > 135 zoom lens & at max zoom when the picture was taken.
To clarify, I had been taking pictures of the moon when my wife noticed a moving object in the sky. I shifted across to it & took that picture. I agree that it was not camera shake & I am pleased that I have someone who can concur that it could possibly be a UFO sighting.
Note: I am not convinced that the streaking of the light sources is due to camera shake. If that was the case, why is the moon in focus and not streaked? These photos were taken with a Canon EOS which is a high end camera. Given the camera attributes supplied by the witness the photos were taken with an optical zoom setting of slightly more than 7X.Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
