PHOTO & ENLARGEMENT OF UNKNOWN OBJECT.

PHOTO & ENLARGEMENT OF UNKNOWN OBJECT.

Description: We didn’t see the UFO until I loaded our pictures into my computer. We had our camera set on a tripod with a 10 second timer. The images 10 seconds before and after this one do not show it.

Note: Enlargement reveals that the object may be disk shaped. The 10 second exposure suggests that the object was hovering or moving very slowly. This makes it more unlikely that the object was a bird or insect. The witness stated that the object was not found in adjoining frames taken before and after the above image. The shape of the object was not distorted due to “camera jiggle” because the camera was mounted on a tripod.

Update – March 27, 2017: The comments received below express doubts that a 10 second exposure would be likely in a well lit scene. I went back and looked at the camera metadata and found that the exposure time was 1/320 seconds. The 10 second figure likely refers to the time delay sequence of the photos. (This was pointed out in the comments.) However, I am still not convinced that the object is a bird or insect.

Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting. Be detailed in your description. This is another photo that is so fuzzy that you can’t really tell what it is. You would think that with the camera sitting on a tripod that it would be clearer than this image.

  2. Cam says:

I don’t believe that the photo was taken with a 10 second exposure. I think that the witness was referring to the time setting of the self timer. This could point more to a different moving object. Maybe a bird or some kind of insect?

I went back and checked the metadata with the file and found that the exposure was only 1/320 seconds. Yes, the witness likely was referring to the time sequence (10 seconds) between photos. However, I am still not convinced that the object is a bird or insect.

  3. Westcoaster says:

10 seconds would be a heckuva long time for an exposure in daytime. I think they meant a 10 second delay on the timer. Which means the UFO could have been traveling through the frame at a fast rate. In any case, it looks disc-shaped.

    • Administrator says:

Yes, you are right. I went back and checked the metadata with the photo file and found that the exposure was 1/320 seconds. So, yes, the witness likely took the photos with a 10 second delay. I still think that the object may be something unusual.

  4. Observer says:

I think he’s saying there was a ten second interval between the photos, not ten second exposures. Ten second exposures would be totally useless in a well lit scene like this one. That being the case, I’d almost certainly conclude it’s a bird or insect. A bird or insect could be in one exposure & then be completely gone ten seconds later.

    • Administrator says:

Yes, good point about the exposure. I did go back and check the metadata with the photo file and found that the exposure was 1/320 seconds. However, I am still not sure of the identity of the object.
