February 26, 2012 – Chicago, Illinois – 11 PM CST

Description: I saw a bright green light with a tail shoot westward in Chicago, Illinois last night (2/26/12) around 11 PM. After doing some online research is that there have been sightings recently over Chicago about every month, and they all report a green light darting. (This is weird.) I don’t know the frequency of meteors in the area, but it is strange that they all appear in the same color/description and are also reported being seen between 10 and 11 PM.

Note: The witness probably saw a meteor with significant copper content. However, the witness makes a good point in why similar sightings have been routinely occurring in the Chicago area.

I saw the same thing that night at 11 PM. It was tear drop shaped and it was going fast in a straight line in a SW direction. I see reports of that night and around that time, but in different places of Chicago and going in different directions. This is weird!
