Description: I am responding to the June 1, 2015 sighting in Dornoch, Scotland. I have a very similar photo from a very strange year in 2002. Both of these photos that have the large bright object that appears either semi-circular or moving in that trajectory, as well as the blinking light trail. (I have a couple more photos showing blinking light trails in 4 or 5 different colors – see photo 2.) My photo here was taken by a 35 MM film camera attached to a small telescope. Exposure time is between 1 and two seconds. The scanned image is grainy because it has been enlarged. The dark form near the bottom of the photo is an out-of-focus pine tree that’s about 80 yards from the camera. I can’t accurately estimate the distance of the objects which were seen at night, but would guess between 5 and 10 miles.
Note: I don’t think there is a relationship between the “semi-circular” object and dots of light (referred to as “light trail”) by the photographer. There are 9 dots in the light trail. The witness said that the exposure time was 1 to 2 seconds. If that is true, then the dots of light are not blinking aircraft lights. The exposure time would have had to have been at least 8 seconds to show 8 dots of blinking light from an aircraft. (This is assuming that the lights blink about once/second.)Note to Commenters: If you are reporting a sighting, be sure to include the location (city, state, country), date and time of your sighting.
