Location of Sighting: Pinehurst, North Carolina
Date of Sighting: June 18, 2017
Time of Sighting: 11:30 PM EDT
Description: I was beginning my shift as Security Officer on June 18, 2017 at approximately 23:30 hours. As I was driving down Carolina Vista Drive away from the Carolina Hotel I saw a bright light a very far distance away coming down at an acute angle. It was kind of free-falling at about a 45 degree angle. It kept it’s level of light intensity constant during it’s fall, not twinkling or fading as a meteor would and it had no light “tail.” I am 58 years old and I have seen many meteors in my life so I KNOW that THIS was NOT any meteor! It looked like an aircraft of some kind and I immediately thought to myself: “He’s got to pull out quick or he’s gonna crash!”. Since I was in a vehicle, I heard no sound after it fell over the horizon. I have never seen anything like this, ever.
