Woman Startled by Flying Triangle That Appeared to Be Scanning Ground With Bright Light

Description:  I was driving home from a friend's house and was located about 6 miles West of Laneville Texas on what I believe is SH 1772. As I was driving around a curve, I noticed what I thought was headlights of an 18-wheeler in the distance maybe about a mile head of me. As I approached closer, I noticed that the lights were actually positioned in a field about 400 yards to the southeast of my location. It was at that point the lights began to rise about 100 feet over the treetops and the 2 "headlights" turned downward and began to scan over the field and trees. They were attached to a triangular shaped object and no other lights were present. I slammed on the brakes of my car, turned off the engine, and rolled down the window, and the "object" floated by me over the treetops about 100 yards to my right, in COMPLETE SILENCE. It floated off over the treetops and out of sight. I started up the car and tried to follow it but it was gone. I didn't talk about it for a long time, as I was alone and the story was really bizarre. I am reporting this after reading about a sighting in Henderson Texas in 1946, which is about 15 miles away from my sighting.

Investigator's Notes: In a subsequent email the witness stated that the front view drawing of the object was what she saw from about 1 mile away.  From the side view she was only about 100 to 150 yards from the object.  She said that the object had two search lights which moved in opposite directions.  This sighting is consistent with many flying triangle sightings that I have received. The only exception is the presence of the search lights.  (This has been reported before, but is more rare.)  All of the other characteristics are similar.  (Triangles that fly low, are large, and are silent.)  This sighting cannot be identified.  The witness has provided good detail.
