Description: The witness reported seeing a bright orange object in the early morning hours while driving north along a quiet Kansas road. He said that the object moved rapidly along the horizon, turned red, shot up "in the atmosphere" and disappeared.

Investigator's Notes: The witness has been very responsive to my follow-up questions. He has indicated that this sighting produced a dramatic affect on him. This is evident in that he vividly recalls the sighting after 8 years. He said that he still looks at the sky in the early morning hours while driving to work. Little investigation can be made of this sighting given that it happened several years and only one witness was present.
