Description (In Witness's Own Words): On November 3rd, 2003 at 9:20 PM, I was returning home from work. My drive was only 20 feet from my door, so I usually walked straight to door. This night my eyes were drawn west where I saw about five hovering UFOs. I lived in a duplex so I called my neighbor out to see them. We stood in the yard and watched while the UFOs seemed to playfully dart here and there. They hovered, shot up, down and sideways. One traveled a long distance to our left in the blink of an eye, where it stopped still and then returned to the others. The night was cold and clear. I'm not an expert on distances and altitudes. They seemed to be about five miles away, close to our tiny airport. They had shimmering lights on both sides and, although I couldn't tell the exact shape, they had a metallic looking center. There was absolutely no sound. The lights shimmered (not strobed) from reds through oranges, yellows and whitish. We watched for about five minutes and my neighbor went back inside. I was too enthralled to even remember to rush inside to get my camera. Eventually, one by one, they appeared to "blink out". The last and largest one (perhaps it seemed larger as it was coming towards me) started to fly NNE nearly overhead. It flew slowly and looked to be about the same altitude as a small propeller plane. There was still NO SOUND. The flight was strange - the only way I can describe it is the way a frog swims. It flew ahead, seemed to pause, then flew ahead again. I watched until I couldn't see it anymore because of the high hills in our area. Our county borders Appalachia and people here treat anyone with these stories as crazy. My neighbor made the mistake of telling her co-workers the next morning and was practically laughed out of the building! I have told very few people but felt obligated to report it, finally. I am a firm believer in UFOs and and remain extremely interested as sightings are increasing.

Investigator's Notes: This sighting is interesting in that the lights darted around, stopped, and moved in various directions. The witness also thought that the lights had a "metallic center." The description provided by the witness indicates that the objects (lights) could have been under intelligent control. A search of other UFO reporting websites did not show any other reported sightings in this area.
