Sighting Reports 2004

Four Kids Playing Football See Rapidly Moving Light With Zigzag Motion

Date of Sighting: February, 2004 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: 9:47 PM
Date Reported: April 11, 2005
Location: Coventry, England (About 90 Miles NW of London)
Latitude: 52.4 Degrees North
Longitude:  1.5 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: Four
Number Witnesses Interviewed:
One
Weather: Clear Skies (Stars Visible)
Other Factors:  Meteor Showers Were Supposed to be Visible

Description (In Witness's Own Words): I was walking home with my three friends from playing football and we were walking past the local school (Ernesford Grange) when all three literally just looked up in the same direction in the sky to see what at first looked like a shooting star but it wasn't. It moved very swiftly in a matter of seconds making a zigzag it first shot left, then right then back left again but instead of turning right then it was as if someone had smudged ink across a page it disappeared in mid air with a tail behind it as it went sort of like on star trek. All four of us were baffled by this and only being fifteen at the time ran home and told our parents. But funny enough in Coventry that night the sky was a funny purple color which none of us had noticed and as I told my mum she and her friend were just talking about the strange color of the sky. Now I didn't take this any further with the authorities but looked into it myself to see if there was a logical explanation and according! to red-shift (a astrological software) a meteor shower was suppose to be visible that night but there is no way a meteor could move like that. With no explanation and being a believer now which probably puts a lot of influence on my judgment I have to say I am sure that was a UFO and that the meteor shower would have been a perfect cover for and craft that wanted to stay hidden.

Investigator's Notes:  This sighting was reported several weeks ago and it has taken me awhile to post (June 11, 2005).  The witnesses were all high school kids, but the primary witness made a clear, concise report.  I really can't identify what was described, but I am inclined to believe that the sighting could related to the alleged meteor showers that the witness references.  Several meteors could have been misidentified as one object.  This would account for the apparent "zigzag" motion that was observed.

On the afternoon of February 19, 2004 a British Broadcast Corporation (BBC) film crew photographed what they thought was a UFO about 8 miles south of Coventry.  This sighting was reported to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC).  The film crew said that the object was dark and circular shaped.  (I have not seen the photograph.) This is the only sighting reported close to Coventry in February, 2004.  The characteristics of the object photographed by the BBC crew are quite different than the above sighting report.  Therefore it is unlikely that these sightings are related.
