Flying Triangle in Eugene, Oregon Observed by TV Film Crew

Description:  UFOs Northwest received this report on the morning of September 1, 2004.  A witness to the sighting reported that on the evening of August 31, 2004 a local TV station (KEZI TV, Channel 9) was broadcasting a story about a mysterious light which would move in a "zigzag" motion and then hover for awhile.  The object contained lights in a triangular formation.  Upon hearing the broadcast the witness traveled to the location of the sighting and found several people observing the light from a parking lot.

Investigation:  Upon hearing of the sighting UFOs Northwest immediately called the TV station in Eugene that had taped the object.  A TV station spokesperson said that the object was later discovered to be a kite which contained lights.  The kite was flown by bicycle rider from a string attached to a fishing pole.  The kite later came down into a tree where it was found by the TV crew.  See KEZI TV story.

Concluding Remarks: UFOs Northwest wishes to thank the witness for his fine report.  By mentioning several details this sighting was easily investigated.  Flying triangle sightings have really skyrocketed in the past few years.  Perhaps some of these sightings can be explained as "light-bearing" kites.  (UFOs Northwest considers the vast "bulk" of flying triangle sightings to be a mystery.)
