Date of Sighting: October 8, 2004
Date Sighting Reported: October 8, 2004
Time of Sighting: 7:30 PM E.D.T.
Location: Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Clear
Description: A man said that he saw a
ball of light about the size of a grapefruit (50% the size of the
full moon) traveling in a
west-northwesterly direction at incredible speed. He said that
he barely had time to notice it when it suddenly disappeared. (The
light was visible for only two seconds.) No noise was exhibited by the light. The witness speculated
that the light was not an airplane, not a shooting star (meteor),
not a satellite. His reason for this conclusion was that the
light was too bright, too fast, and too large to fit any of these
categories.
Investigative Notes: This sighting
has just been received. Initially my thought was that this
sighting could be a meteor. However, I plan to contact NORAD
to see if space debris was noted in that area. I also will be
checking other UFO report sources for similar sightings in this
area. New information will be posted as received. The witness
is an amateur astronomer and is sure that the light doesn't fit any
celestial phenomena.
