Date of Sighting: (Unknown - Estimate, March, 2004)
Date Reported: August 22, 2004
Time of Sighting: (Daytime - Exact Time Unknown)
Location: Poland, New York (About 70 miles East-Northeast of Syracuse, New York)
Latitude: 43.32175 Degrees North
Longitude: 75.08445 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: (Not known, but photo shows sky to be partly cloudy)

Description: The witness was vacationing in Poland, New York from Ohio and at the time was waiting for his friend outside of a library.  He decided to take a photo of his friend as he exited the library.  About 5 months later he downloaded the photo from his digital camera to his computer.  At that time he noticed the strange object in the upper right hand portion of the photo.

Investigation:  Many photos of UFOs are taken inadvertently by witnesses.  (I have had had a similar experience.)  My initial impression when looking at the photo is there appears to be no string or suspension from the object indicating that it was really in the photo.  I do not know if the photo was "doctored".  Digital photos are extremely difficult to analyze and prove authentic.  The witness has not asked for money and is genuinely concerned about my impression about what the photo is.

Results/Conclusion:  The object has the appearance of a disk shaped aircraft with an elevated dome.  These types of objects have been seen and photographed for over 50 years and are still a mystery.

Further analysis of the object in this photo strongly suggests that the object is a street lamp or lighting fixture attached to the library.  My conclusion was confirmed when I contacted the librarian of the library where the photo was taken.  The librarian viewed the photo and said that the object was a light attached to the building.

Bottom Line:  Object in photo is light attached to library. Camera focus or sunlight has obscured attachments.
