Two Supervisors, Ten High School Students & a Tour Guide Observe Flying Triangle That Gradually Grew Smaller & Disappeared

image
Drawing Provided by Witness - Read Description Below

Date: September 20, 2005
Time: 7:00 PM MDT
Date Reported: September 24, 2005
Location: Peak in Wilderness Near Bloomfield, New Mexico (Four Corners Area About 150 Miles Northwest of Albuquerque
Latitude:  36.695 Degrees North
Longitude:  107.98 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: 13
Number of Witnesses Interviewed: One
Weather: A Few Cumulous Clouds at 7,000 Feet - Visibility 10 Miles
Astronomical: Sunset - 7:12 PM MDT

Description (In Witness's Own Words): I Saw a triangular shaped object in the sky, hovering stationary for the better part of an hour. Then it turned orange/reddish and faded away to a small point of light. We saw it through binoculars. It had two prominent lights on either side of the upper points and the top was domed. It seemed to have circling lights around its center point. Two supervisors, 10 high school kids and a Navajo guide all witnessed it. We saw the object in the wilderness at the top of a peak near Bloomfield, NM, but another witness said it could also be seen at Ft. Defiance, AZ. Both places are in Navajo territory. It was a clear night with occasional passing light clouds and farther off there were some cumulus clouds. There was no sound associated with the object, and that may have been because we were too far away to hear it. I can tell you that the object looked weirdly like one of those alien faces you see on T-shirts. Only not really a face, it's just that where the two large lights were placed in the triangle it looked hauntingly like that. Possibly I can get one of the others to draw what we saw and we can scan it in and send it along.

Witness Notes on Drawing: I came up with a drawing myself for the 9/20/05 New Mexico sighting. I was thinking it would be fun to get all the kids who saw it to draw their own version before comparing them. As I said, the object was far away, so my drawing takes the liberty of imagining what it would look like if I could see it close up. This, to me, looks pretty close to what I think that would look like. From far away, this would have looked triangular, as it did. Remember, the entire object was illuminated, and the big ovular lights were more so. I could not actually tell if the bottom looked as if it was venting fuel. Our native American guide said it looked like something was streaming from the bottom, so I guess this rendition includes his statement. The geometrical lines could vaguely be made out in the sighting, but I do not know the proportions or actual shapes, so I have drawn this very basic, to get the idea across.

Investigator's Notes: This sighting is quite credible considering the number of witnesses involved.  In addition to that the triangle was seen in two states at the same time (Ft. Defiance, Arizona and Bloomfield, New Mexico).  Ft Defiance, Arizona is 89 Miles Southwest of Bloomfield, New Mexico.  This is indicative that the object must have been quite large.  The witness holds a professional job should be considered reliable.  I have asked for drawings from any of the witnesses. Any drawings received will be posted.  This case falls into the unidentified category.

Another sighting near Albuquerque was reported around the same time (7:30 PM) with similar characteristics (four pointed lights).  It is possible that this is the same object that the above witnesses saw.
