Time of Sighting: 5:21 PM PST
Date Reported: November 3, 2005
Duration of Sighting: About One Minute
Location of Sighting: Citrus Heights, California (About 14
Miles Northeast of Sacramento)
Latitude: 38.698 Degrees North
Longitude: 121.283 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Mostly Cloudy. Some Clouds at 4,500 feet, Mostly
Cloudy at 10,000 Feet. Southerly Winds Gusting to Around 20 MPH, and
Visibility 10 Miles
Description (In Witness's Own Words): At first, object was
similar to a jiffy pop pan half-popped, with no handle. There were
white lights in the \"pan\". The rounded top looked like a framework
covered with a gauzy, shimmery material. The object did not move for
about one minute. It hung over the trees. Then the white lights
blinked, the object tipped onto its side (looking like a frisbee on
edge) and then zipped away.
Investigator's Notes: The
witness is describing a classic flying saucer sighting. The
object looks like a pan when viewed in one position and then a
frisbee type shape in another position. The fact that the
object tipped on its side and zipped away is a common maneuver see
in saucer sightings. The witness has not responded to my
requests for more information. Sometimes this is indicative of
a hoax. Given the current scenario this case cannot be further
investigated. I am more inclined to classify it as a hoax.
