Description (In Witness's Own
Words With Minor Edits):
I saw one object with two green
lights on the sides. The object was positioned in the Northwestern
direction of the sky. It fell vertically down in the cloudy part of
the sky, and then suddenly disappeared. A second later I saw what
looked like a shooting star which went from the South Eastern clear
part of the sky right towards the area where I saw the green object.
I don't remember there to have been any sound, and I didn't see any
nearby aircraft in the area. It all took place in a matter of
seconds.
Investigator's Notes: This sighting could be number a things. Given that it fell
rapidly from the sky suggests a meteorite. (Some meteors glow
green if they are composed of copper.) The witness mentioned
another shooting star in the direction of where the object fell.
This was likely a meteor. The witness stated that the object
fell in the "cloudy part" of the sky. The weather for
Portland, Maine at 1 AM showed clear skies with good visibility.
