Description: I am in Dixon NM and have been looking at a
bright light in the sky, in the south for about half an hour. It has
not moved. I am a star gazer and this is twice or more as bright as
Lyra or any other 1st magnitude star out. It is located near Shaula
or what ever the stinger star in Scorpio is called, when viewed from
here, It appears to be moving at the same speed as the stars.
Investigator's Notes: It is my
opinion that the witness has been viewing Mars. Mars is very
close to the Earth this month and is very bright. Also the
position (in the Southern sky) is consistent with the position.
UFOs Northwest has received several reports of apparent sightings of
Mars.
