Duration of Sighting: 10 Seconds
Date Reported: December 26,
2005
Location of Sighting: Jacksonville, Florida (Northern East Coast of Florida. Witness Was
15 Miles Inland & Saw Object East Over Ocean)

Degrees N
Longitude: 81.675
Degrees W
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Clear Skies.
Description (In Witness's Own
Words): I was in my
back yard in the Mandarin section of Jacksonville. I saw This cigar
shaped object was a bright gray and had a very bright pulsating red
light which would appear to be about 1/3 the size of the object.
It was moving from N to S, then stopped for about 5 seconds, moved
down at a 45 degree angle backwards, then moved level for about 5
seconds then zoomed off and disappeared. I know it wasn't a
plane because it both moved backwards, hovered and I could see that
bright red light even though it was a very sunny day, bright blue
sky and no clouds at the time.
Investigator's Notes: This object certainly did not behave like any conventional aircraft
given that it moved back and forth and then disappeared. I
have no explanation for this sighting. A similar shaped object was
sighted in St. Petersburg, Florida on December 19, 2005 (see
report).
