Two Witnesses See "Tube-Like" Object Hovering Over Field. Object Then Rapidly Sped Off

Description (In Witness's Own Words): Time of sighting: between 6-7 pm (It was dark out, but not late). Location of sighting: Lacey, WA, USA. Near Marvin Road. We were driving home and as we passed a sage brush patch I noticed something, at least 30 feet up in the sky and around 50 feet to my right there was this large object, about 2 cars in length and tube like, it got larger towards the middle and was the same size on the ends. In the front there was a large solid ring of a bright light blue light. and in the back it had the same thing except the light was white. At first I thought it was a blimp, as went slowly along, but then the front tipped up and it sped( like really sped, it was going very fast) horizontally up into the clouds, dismissing my blimp idea I wonder to this day what the heck it was. The same night about a half an hour afterwards we (my mother and I) saw 7 black helicopters going in the direction the unknown ship had gone, which was towards or army base Fort Lewis. Investigator's Notes: This object is of unusual shape.  The witness correctly stated that the object resembled a blimp, but obviously it was not a blimp given its flight characteristics.  More investigation will be conducted regarding this sighting.  With available information I have no explanation for what the witnesses saw.  It is not clear why the witnesses chose to report the incident a couple of weeks after it happened. Any new information will be posted.
