Weather: Clear Skies.
Visibility 15 Miles
Description (In Witness's Own
Words): Location: 9th Concession of
Tay Valley Township (formerly Bathurst) of Lanark County of Ontario,
Canada. We saw a bright blue light streaking extremely fast through
the sky. It was parallel to the land and did not appear very high
overtop the trees and house. It had a glowing red light behind it. I
thought that it was a airplane at first since it had the red light
at the back. My two daughters thought that it was a falling star
because their were no flashing lights like an airplane. But all of a
sudden it just disappeared. It did not go up or down it just
vanished.
Investigator's Notes: Three sightings occurred in
Ottawa, Ontario area 15 minutes apart and at locations about 50
miles apart. Each sighting had different characteristics
(color, speed, time of sighting, etc) so it is not known if the
sightings are related. Two sightings were reported about one
day after occurrence and one three days after occurrence. Given characteristics described I
believe that these sightings are likely astronomical
phenomena (meteors).
