Latitude: 49.5 Degrees North
Longitude: 119.6 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: Three
Number of Witnesses Interviewed: Three
Weather: Clear Skies - Visibility 15 Miles
Description (In Witness's Own Words):
Location of sighting: Riverside Drive, Penticton (about 200m
past parking lot from Local Landing)
Weather: Clear night with full moon, no clouds
Part of sky located: Came from South Western area of sky
approximately 45+ degrees up the sky UFO Movement: Moved at speed
approximately half a cm to a cm a second compared to my eyes. Moved
towards north and slightly east in a very jagged pattern, not
seeming to move in a very direct path. Then it started moving away
from us, south, getting slightly dimmer. It traveled a fair distance
along the sky during the time I was looking at it.
UFO appearance: Bright orange light, lightly pulsing. Brighter
than mars or any other star in the sky, basically as bright as the
moon. Distance appeared to be a long ways outside of Earth's
atmosphere, just like a really bright star.
Area of sighting: Clear view of sky with trees making my western
horizon.
How it occurred: I was biking up Riverside Drive with my two
friends when we seen a bright orange object in the sky. We stopped
to look at it and noticed it was moving in an irregular pattern. The
object was slightly pulsing while moving across the sky. About 3
minutes after looking at it I phoned my dad on a cell phone at 9:22
pm. At the same time the object started to get dimmer at its max
brightness like it was moving away. My dad wasn't able to see it
either due to not knowing exactly where it was, and the smoke mixed
with the lights of the city he claimed disrupted his vision. After 3
minutes of the phone with him the object started pulsing
dramatically from really bright to really dim. After around three of
these pulses, while it was bright, it disappeared in a split second.
My mind seen it as going directly away from us fast enough not to
see any light anymore. Although I think that to be a trick of my
mind, I couldn't figure out how such a bright light could disappear
so quickly. I noticed it disappeared in line with the Moon and mars
approximately 2.5 times further than the planet from the moon.
There's no way the object was any aircraft, comet, satellite, or
rocket due to pattern of flight and brightness. Please contact me
and keep me updated about this. You are the first person I've sent
this info. to, and I'd like to know if I should send it out anywhere
else. I'll be going back to the place where I was on the next clear
night to draw the pattern of flight roughly to my memory and
hopefully get slightly better approximations of where it was and
where it moved to. If you have any other questions, please ask.
Thank you.)
Investigator's Notes: The
witness has made a very concise detailed report. He was aware
of weather conditions, astronomical phenomena, and other important
facts. I consider this sighting to be unidentified. I
received another similar sighting in Centralia, Washington on this
same night about three hours before this sighting occurred. I don't
know if these two sightings are related. You may read about the
Centralia, Washington by clicking
