Description (In Witness's Own
Words): Location of Sighting in
Puyallup WA, Fruitland Ave facing north at intersection of Fruitland
and Pioneer. I saw a dark line in the sky. The line appeared to
hover, then turned sideways and became a ring. I know its not a
"flying saucer" but a few people stopped and watched it for a few
minutes, then poof, it was gone.
Second Interview: The witness stated
that the object (line) did not move. It hovered, rotated, and
then broke up. He noticed the object while driving. (The line
was in his field of vision while driving northbound on Fruitland
Avenue.) Apparently one witness took a video of the object.
The photograph was taken with a Konica/Minolta digital image A2
camera. The camera has a resolution of 8 megapixels.
Investigator's Notes: The photo and observation by the
witness indicate that something unusual occurred. I
entertained the notion that the dark line (and later ring) could
possibly due to a ground level release of smoke, but given that it
rapidly vanished tends to rule out a ground release. The
witness also observed the line "turn on its side." The
ring-like structure also appears to be leaving a trail. Given
current information, I have no explanation for this sighting.
I have investigated similar type sightings of dark ring-like
structures in the atmosphere. One case occurred in Salt Lake
City, Utah on March 1, 2001. Click here to read about this report. Another sighting occurred in North
Yorkshire, England on June 1, 2004. Click here to read about this sighting.
