Description (In Witness's Own
Words): My husband and I were driving
just past the Skyway Bridge that connects St. Petersburg and
Sarasota, Florida on the I-75 South when in the distant sky, perhaps
a mile or two ahead, we saw what appeared to be cylindrical shaped
blue lightning which fell into a ball shape and seemed to explode on
the horizon as if a bomb. The bluish-green light was intense in the
center like a flashbulb and it was surrounded by a lighter shade of
this color in a half circle formation perhaps a mile or more in
diameter.
Investigator's Notes: This sighting is most unusual in that it does not fit any
conventional phenomena. It was cloudy at the time of the
sighting, but no thunderstorms were in the area. Given current
information this sighting cannot be identified.
