Description In Witness's Own Words): Ok, I've never been a
big believer in "sightings" and generally felt that those who saw
these things were... a bit loony. So, call me a loon. Thursday
night, May 18, at approximately 10:05 pm while my neighbor and I
were outside chatting, she stopped talking mid-sentence, and while
looking up into the clear sky, said, "What is that?!" There was
"something" flying above, lowish, but higher than a plane coming
from Seattle-Tacoma Airport. They occasionally fly over our area and
fly lower than whatever it was we saw. She ran in to get her 17 year
old son--who of course thought we were both totally berserk--until
he saw it too. We watched an object with red & blue flashing
strobe-like lights, flying in small circles, overhead, then straight
up until out of sight. The whole thing lasted about 10 minutes. It
was not a plane--they do not disappear straight up, but over the
horizon. The lights were, as I said, red & blue and flashed similar
to a strobe light. It was silent. It looked as if it flew
erratically, but it may have been due to the lights. I would not
have believed it, if the three of us hadn't been out there together.
Can you tell me if anyone else has reported this sighting? I didn't
see anything on the news.
Investigator's Notes: I don't know what the witnesses
observed. I don't believe that a helicopter, airplane, or
balloon (hot air) would explain what the witnesses observed.
Perhaps with more witnesses and data this sighting could be
explained.
