White Mass (Enlarged) in One of
Photos.
(The Mass Was Not Noticed When Photo Was Taken.)
Date of Sighting: March 19, 2006
Time of Sighting: 2 PM EST
Date Reported: March 19, 2006
Duration of Sighting: Few Seconds
Location of Sighting: Brooklyn, New York
Latitude: 40.65 Degrees North
Longitude: 73.95 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: One
Weather: Clear Skies
Description (In Witness's Own Words):
From Brooklyn NY, USA. I was shooting photos west towards Manhattan.
I took some random pictures of the flag, got home and noticed
something that looked like some dust. I enlarged the spot, and upon
closer examination it didn't look like dust. A white orb appears in
a number of consecutive shots I took before this picture. The
attached picture shows the most detail.
Investigator's Notes: I am not sure if
the mass on the photo supplied by the witness is a real mass/object
because the witness said that the same speck (dust) showed up in
other photos. Given this information the possibility exists
that the mass is really dust or another anomaly of the camera.
The date of the photo is also suspect given that the camera
signature said March 16, 2006. However, the time said 1 AM
(clearly not the correct time). Therefore the time and date
were likely set wrong on the camera. The photo was taken with
a Sony Digital PS200 (7.1 mega-pixel) digital camera.
Photographic Analysis: Another
investigator has analyzed the photos of this case. He
concluded that the "pixels" of the white mass were consistent with
the rest of the photo and were not likely to have been hoaxed.
He also does not believe that the white mass is due to debris on the
lens of the camera. However, he believes that the white mass could
be a seagull in the distance.
