Description: Witness reports that he has been seeing several lights on successive nights beginning on June 25 and continuing until July 1. He has been seeing lights to the SSW. The lights are of varying color (pinkish to green). He claims that the lights are stationary, but move when he shines a flashight.
Investigator's Notes: I believe that the witness has been seeing Jupiter which has been bright and in a southerly position right after sunset in late June and early July. The apparent movement is probably an optical illusion as the result of a phenomenon called "photokinesis." (A starlike object can appear to jump when stared at.) Also the apparent movement could be caused by the movement of light clouds over the planet.
