Description:Listen to Clip of Witness Interview (MP3)
The witness reported this sighting about 8 weeks after it occurred. He insinuated that both he and his wife became "true believers" after this sighting. He state that several witnesses (including one police officer) also viewed the objects. At first he saw one object that he thought was a contrail. He said that it then took on an appearance of a "red-orange" fireball and was very large. He said that then two smaller objects (orange orbs) appeared by the larger object. The objects appeared to hover and then slowly moved away until becoming invisible. The witness stated the police officer he seen these type of lights before and called them "mountain lights."

Investigator's Notes: This case like many others is intriguing. The one drawback of the case is that I am unable to get a good "feel" for what the witnesses observed. The witness used the term "contrails" in a different context than the long white trails that precede high flying aircraft. The fact that the objects changed from the "contrail appearance" to fireballs is also strange. Certainly there are phenomena in nature that probably can't be explained and maybe this sighting could fall into that category. Given available information I can't say anymore about this sighting.
