Description (In Witness's Own Words):
I saw the light in the Northeast sky heading towards Monroe on
Highway 522. This is the second time that I have seen this.
It was a bright blue flickering light in the sky. There was no way
that it could have been lightning. The last time I checked lightning
wasn't blue and besides this was a huge blue light. I am sure
that it was at least a few hundred yards wide. It was intense and
lasted for about 15 seconds. The first sighting that I had I sent to
King5 News via email. That one was MORE intense it seemed closer but
lasted for a lot shorter period of time. Both times were incredible
and mind blowing. I have never witnessed anything similar to this in
the sky's before.
Investigator's Notes: The witness was
impressed with his sighting. He reported the sighting within an hour
of his experience. Given that rain and quite stormy conditions
were in the area at the time
one could speculate that some type of electrical phenomenon could
have been associated. However, as the witness stated lightning is
not blue. I also don't think the witness saw ball lightning.
Power outages were reported in the area. Perhaps the blue light
could have been the result of broken power lines.
Given available data I can't explain this sighting.
