Description:Click Here to Listen to Witness Audio Report. Witness reported the sighting the morning after it occurred. Witness stated that her husband first saw the lights. She then saw them. Other witnesses included a neighbor and a daughter who lived about 1 mile away. Witness stated that the lights varied in color from red, yellow, green, and blue. Lights exhibited a "spinning and orbiting" pattern. The lights were in a well defined symmetrical pattern that the witness described as "mathematically precise." The lights were seen to the east. Witness stated that the lights were again seen at 6 AM the next morning (August 27, 2006). The witness joked that perhaps the lights were there to observe the launch of the space shuttle which has been scheduled (and delayed) for launch on this weekend. Palm Bay is on what is called the "space coast" and is only a few miles south of Cape Canaveral which is where the space shuttle is launched. Witness thought that the objects could be from a nearby secret military base. (The Military Base is identified as an Air Force "Annex." The witnesses stated that they had only lived in the area for about two years. The local residents told them that the base was secret and perhaps connected to Patrick Air Force Base. Patrick Air Force Base is about 15 Miles to the north of Palm Bay.)

Investigator's Notes: More information is needed regarding this sighting. The witness seemed quite excited about the sighting and thought that the lights were very unusual. Apparently photos and/or video recordings were attempted, but unsuccessful. At this time I don't have an explanation for this sighting. Some showers and thunderstorms had occurred earlier, but they were likely not a factor in the aerial light display. Updates to this case will be posted.
