Description (In Witness's Own Words): On our way home from the Canada Day fireworks we noticed a large bright light that was very low and appeared to be moving slowly. When we got home we put the kids to bed and went outside. The light was there still very low so I got our sony handicam and filmed it for over five minutes. Whatever it was it made the most beautiful colors appeared to be spinning or consisting of two moving parts and was able to change shape. Twice that I filmed it pulsed a huge light and appeared to expand in size. It was spinning and moving to the northwest. Can you tell us what this is? I can send you twenty stills from the video last night, as well as two digital video clips. Thank you and we look forward to hearing from you. Investigator's Notes: The witness has sent several stills extracted from vidoes of the light that she and her husband taped. The videos and photos were taken using a Sony DCR HC30 Camcorder which has a 640 by 480 pixel resolution. The witness took a similar video on the following night (July 2, 2006). I had first thought that the witness had filmed Jupiter because of the position of the light (to the south-southwest) and because the footage was taken on a zoom setting. (The exact zoom setting is unknown.) After viewing the video and the stills it is highly unlikely that the light was Jupiter or any other astronomical object. Therefore given available information I cannot explain the light captured on this video.
