Description: Listen to Audio of Interview With One of Witnesses
The witness phoned in sighting a day after it happened. The primary witness (husband) stated that he noticed a light moving slowly eastward to the north of his position. He at first thought that it was a weather balloon, but when he saw a trail falling behind it he knew that it wasn't a balloon. He went into the house to fetch a set of binoculars. When he returned, the light had vanished. The witness's wife also saw the light. He reported the incident to the Coast Guard hoping that they would have an explanation. The Coast Guard responded by providing the witness with the phone number of the National UFO Reporting Center.
Investigator's Notes: I don't believe that the witnesses saw a weather balloon given that they saw a trail. I believe that they sighted the high flying aircraft that was reported by several other witnesses in Western Washington in the early evening hours of September 11, 2006. (See report and video taken of the aircraft.)
