Sighting Reports 2006

Man Sees Disk Shaped Object From Airliner Window

Drawing of Object by Witness.
Drawing of Object by Witness.

Date of Sighting: October 12, 2006 (Exact Date Unknown)
Time of Sighting: Between 11 AM and 12:30 PM
Date Sighting Reported: May 27, 2008
Duration of Sighting: Five Minutes
Location of Sighting: Near Washington, D.C. on Airliner Flying Towards Boston
Latitude: 38.9 Degrees North (Airport Coordinates)
Longitude: 77.0 Degrees West (Airport Coordinates)
Number of Witnesses: One (There Were Probably Several)
Weather: Witness Stated in His Report That the Aircraft Was Flying Above a Thin Broken Cloud Layer. The Exact Altitude of the Aircraft is Not Known.

Description: I was on a flight from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to Boston, Massachusetts. I was sitting on the starboard side of the plane just in front of where the wing joins the fuselage. I put my head against the window and looked straight down. We were flying about 75 feet above a very thin, very broken cloud layer. I saw a disk just below the cloud layer flying at exactly the same speed as the plane. It followed us for about five minutes until the clouds became solid and I could not see if it was there anymore. The attached drawing is basically how it looked. It had no lights, no openings and no visible propulsion. It was flying in lock-step with the plane.

Subsequent Report by Witness: I will have to dig out my old ticket stub for exact information on flight date, but I think it was in July, 2006. It was an American airline flight. The aircraft may have been an Airbus 300. Have you had other reports of a similar designed craft? This seemed too small to be a manned craft so I am thinking that it was some kind of drone. I will get back to you on exact information.

Third Report by Witness: Sorry it took so long to get back to you. It was actually a Jet Blue flight from Ft. Lauderdale to Boston. The flight number was 452. The scheduled departure time was 8:15 AM. I think the departure was delayed about an hour so that would have put us over the Washington area somewhere between 11:00 am and 12:30 pm. Since I was looking straight down on it, I could not tell what the bottom looked like, so my drawing was only a guess on that. The top view is accurate. There was no visible lights, openings, fasteners, nor was there any contrails of exhaust plumes. It was flying at exactly the same speed as the plane and never wavered at all. It was directly below us. I had to put my head against the window to see it. I did a hand sketch of the object when I was looking at it, and later did the cad drawing that I sent to you previously. Have you heard of any other sightings of crafts with this particular design? As I mentioned previously, it looked too small to be a manned aircraft.

Comments: The witness's report and drawing are quite interesting and depict a disk (saucer type) craft. Crafts of these shape have been reported since 1947 and continue to this day. (They are still unidentified.) One would think that others probably witnessed the event assuming that the aircraft had several passengers. The only possible inconsistency in the report is how could the witness draw a side view of the object when the object was below the aircraft? (The third report provided by the witness clarifies this issue. He was guessing on the shape of the object from a side view.)
