Description: The witness called several times saying that he was seeing erratic moving lights in the late evening hours. He said that the lights were in all directions and that some appeared to land in nearby fields. He stated that the lights would respond to signals from his flashight. The phenomenon was only visible at night.

Investigator's Notes: At first I didn't believe the witness, but after some investigation I discovered that Waterville, Washington area residents sometimes see strange lights on summer evenings. Apparently this phenomenon has been occurring for several years. King 5 TV in Seattle, Washington recently aired a short segment about the lights. (See short simulation above.) I believe that the lights are a natural occurrence and are not intelligent. The source and cause of these lights is a mystery.
