Description (In Witness's Own Words): While exploring Google Earth , for signs of ET I came across these unlabeled black boxes in Antartica. I looked closer and was intrigued to see the circular marks on the snowpack, measuring about 100 ft. across . Since I'm a new computer user I haven't figured out how to send the images, so I'll send you the coordinents. Please check it out. You'll find it at 71 40 19.71 S , 2 49 38.50 W. Now I don't feel like I'm the only one who knows about them. I hope this is something. Your doing great stuff.

Second Report by Witness (In Response to Investigator Questions): William, nobody told me about this area in Anarctica, But I had a very close UFO sighting in around 1959/60. The sighting left me 100% convinced that we are being observed and visited by something and someone unexplaned. What makes me suspicious about this location is that:
1. The "boxes" are not labeled ,when every manmade detail in Anarctica seems to be, weather past or present.
2. The 100 feet diameter circular marks on the snow.
3.The large black box shapes duwarf other habitations such as India's base.
4 3. The huge gaping black shapes appear to have no bottom, making them look like caves.

I might be assuming too much but curiosity is a thing of mine, sometimes good sometimes not. Thanks for your intrest and prompt response.

Investigator's Notes: I verified that the box structures are near the location of the geographical coordinates supplied by the witness. I turned on all labels in Google Earth and the structures were not labeled. However, I don't believe that this necessarily means that they are not manmade. Suspicious objects and structures have been showing up on Google Earth images in the past few years. Some Google Earth images seem to show unknown aerial vehicles. A local researcher has identified the structures in the above images as belonging to "SANAE IV" research base of the South African National Antarctic Program (SANAP). (See comments below.)

Comments on Images by UFO Researcher From California: I use Google Earth in my UFO research, usually to scope out a sighting area geographically. Antarctica is busy as a Piccadilly circus. Many nations have stations there. The structures are interesting, but alien in origin? They look like part of an old abandoned station area? (See Second Image Above.)

Comments on Images by UFO Researcher From Washington State: Yes, no doubt all man-made. But I think quite possibly it is something that is not publicly acknowledged. Thinking about it further, I suspect the "buried snow-cats" are anchor points for lines of sensors strung on a cable. The location of the anchors would not have to be precise, just the directional bearing, and there might be reasons like huge boulders, etc. that they could not be precisely located at a given spot. It is the location of the sensors, strung on a cable, that has to be precise. I suspect the sensors are geo-phones or seismic detectors, and form sort of a phased-array that can directionally locate seismic disturbances. As to what disturbances, the most likely candidates are secret nuclear tests. The radio installation is to communicate any incidents detected quickly. I was puzzled as to why a simple satellite dish would not not work as well, but if you think about it, geosynchronous satellites are going to appear to be on the horizon from the polar regions! So old fashioned HF may be the best solution. It is clearly in use however, as there are traces of vehicle tracks around it, and also around some of the anchor buildings. The main buildings appear to be on stilts, a standard polar construction technique used for better insulation, and to avoid being buried by blown snow. The puzzling thing about them is their huge size. If they are dormitories, they would be capable of housing up to 1000 people! I don't know what that many folks would be doing there - such a rig could be run by 50 people easily. The "100-foot circles" look to me like the traces of ski-equipped aircraft turning around. An installation like this has to have a runway, and I think you can see it leading diagonally away from the larger building. A very interesting installation, but not built by aliens. 1. Yep, that is an HF Radar! Gosh, I feel clever. But it's for ionosphere research.
2. Yep, they are doing geomagnetic research.
3. The smaller "building" is not a building at all - it is a huge diesel fuel bunker.
4. The larger building is the living area - and supports a lot fewer people than I imagined!
5. That "little ridge" it is on is gigantic! I learned many years ago when searching for an emergency landing place from the air - everything is a LOT lumpier than it looks to be from straight overhead!
