Witness Was Traveling Southeast at the Time of Sighting.

Date of Sighting: December 26, 2007
Time of Sighting: 7:30 PM EST
Date Sighting Reported: December 29, 2007
Duration of Sighting: 3 to 5 Seconds
Location of Sighting: From Car Travel on I-24 in Chattanoogan, Tennesee
Latitude: 35.0 Degrees North
Longitude: 85.3 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: Four
Number of Witnesses Interviewed: One
Weather: Clear Skies. Visibility 10 Miles. Winds Were From the South at 10 MPH. (Witness Stated That Skies Were Partly Cloudy.)

Description (In Witness's Own Words): We heard an unimaginable noise above our car on the interstate. The car shook. We saw lights in a row that moved at a high rate of speed in sharp turns and went straight into the air. It happened too fast to get a picture.

Second Report by Witness (In Response to Investigator Questions): We were traveling south on I-24 outside Chattanooga. We were just 1/2 miles from the I-75 interchange toward Atlanta. The lights were bright white. I would say that 7 lights were arranged in a row, but as they made the sharp curve it appeared to be in a "J" formation. The sighting was very brief. The noise was deafening. (It rocked the car.) As I said, we initially thought a plane was crashing into our car.

Investigator's Notes: Did the witnesses experience a low flying jet over the freeway? This is not likely as aircraft are not supposed to fly over 250 knots below 10,000 feet over populated areas. Anyone else who witnessed this sighting is urged to file a report.
