Astronomical: Comet McNaught Was Bright and Visible to The West in the Evening Sky

Description: The witness is 10 years old. The witness's mother reported the sighting. She stated that her son had seen two bright lights moving in separate directions. Apparently the boy identified what he saw later in the evening when he viewed a UFO documentary on the History Channel. I watched the same documentary (ET Tech) and saw some photos of well defined UFOs. The mother stated that her son is very observant and not prone to fabrications.

Investigator's Notes: The witness drew a sketch of what he saw for his mother. (See drawing above.) I originally thought that the boy saw Comet McNaught, but given the direction of the sighting (south), the appearance of the objects, and the fact that two objects were seen all make it unlikely that the witness saw the comet. The comet would have been visible to the west at the time of the sighting. The mother had the point in the directions of where he saw the objects so I believe that the direction of sighting is correct. Given this information I cannot explain this sighting.
