Description: Listen to Audio of Report (MP3)
The witness left a voice-mail with his report. He stated that he was driving with his mother and saw a silver ball shaped object move eastward. The object moved in a straight and he lost sight of it after the object went behind a line of trees. The witness stated that the object traversed the entire length of the sky in 15 to 20 seconds. A coworker and his girlfriend also saw the object. They were apparently quite "frightened" by what they saw. The witness said that his coworker saw a car stopped on the side of the road ahead of them and the passengers were looking at the object.

Investigator's Notes: I know that the sighting was not a weather balloon because no weather balloons would be aloft at that time. The ball could have been another balloon given that it was moving in the direction of the wind. (The winds from the west at the surface and at the heights of the clouds.) The height of the object likely was from 2,500 to 7,000 feet given the weather report and the fact that the witness said that object went behind a cloud. Given available information I am not sure what the witnesses sighted.
