Sighting Reports 2007

Several See "Dinner Plate" Shaped Objects With Outer "Magenta" Ring

Date of Sighting: April 2, 2007
Time of Sighting: 7:45 PM CDT
Date Sighting Reported: April 3 , 2007
Duration of Sighting: A Few Minutes (Exact Duration Unknown)
Location of Sighting: Lockport, Illinois (Suburb to the Southwest of Chicago)
Latitude: 41.55 Degrees North
Longitude: 88.06 Degrees West
Number of Witnesses: At Least Two
Weather: Broken Clouds With Bases at 7,500 Feet. Visibility 10 Miles

Description (In Witness's Own Words): On The North side Rt 171, North St., Southeast corner of Ludwig School property I saw two lights hazy glowing yellow with magenta outer ring (rose colored). the objects were round, slightly larger than dinner plate size. Their movement was erratic, very active, in and out of cloud cover. Their motion was inconsistent with how floodlights might move. The objects hovered at above location, they appeared to bump into each other and create a third disk. I watched for several minutes seeking an explanation, when they increased activity and created a third disc, I decided it was time to go inside. I phoned my neighbor on Rt 171 to the North of the school, they made the same observation. The objects moved toward their house, bumped again creating a fourth disc, hovered with activity for maybe a minute and then moved West in the direction of the river and canals. I contacted the Lockport Police. We will watch for them tonight. I did not have time or think about a camera. My artistic skills leave much to be desired. I could describe the objects and their movement in detail.

Investigator's Notes: This is a most interesting sighting considering the behavior, color, motion, of the objects and the fact that more objects appeared. The witness must have been impacted considering that she called the local police department. The witness did some of her own investigation and learned that the lights were likely "flood lights" from a promotion several miles away. (She observed the same phenomenon on the following night.)
