Sighting Reports 2007 Multiple Witnesses See Large Orange Erratic Moving Object
Date of Sighting: October 17, 2007 Description (In Witness's Own Words): We saw a "big rounded orange flare that was at times like a banana shape with some sort of light in front of it." It is rather hard to describe as it was changing shape. It was almost like a big flare of orange light a perfect circle at some points. Suddenly, it disappeared. A few seconds later it reappeared (like to mention that it didn't seem at all like reflections of an airplane light on clouds and was soundless). It was slowly moving right at first, then it began going left, and then disappeared again. It reappeared again. It didn't seem to be moving at that point, but then started to changed shape. (It gave the impression that it was shrinking, but in a irrational moving way.) Then it disappeared for good. We didn't see it again after. I was starring at the sky and saw 2 planes after the sighting. The "thing" seemed to be twice the altitude (over 1000 feet), but it was hard to say how high. It was for sure bigger than a plane. To give you an idea, we had mistaken it for a low orange moon at first. (Picture the size of a low moon.) It was over the city of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. Second Report by Witness (Includes Above Animation): I used my computer and used a picture that I found on the net that had about the same sky settings of that night to help give an idea on how it went. Note: The witness described in detail an object that showed a pattern of appearance, erratic movement, disappearance, reappearance, and changing shapes. The object exhibited this behavior repeatedly. The witness's animation above shows this effect. Investigator's Notes: This sighting is intriguing considering that the object had a continual pattern of erratic movement, disappearance, reappearance, and changing in shape behavior. The object must have been quite large given that the witnesses originally thought that the object was the moon. It is quite unlikely that the witnesses misidentified the moon as the object because they identified the object as round while the moon was crescent shaped (41% illuminated). The witness's animation above exemplifies what she saw. Clearly the witnesses saw an unusual phenomenon. I have no idea of the cause of this sighting. Any other witnesses are urged to report to this website. |
