Description (In Witness's Own Words): I was sitting on the back patio at my house enjoying a nice cool evening. I noticed dark shadow moving across the sky and then a bright flash facing South of Morgantown. The explosion like object was pretty intense for about 4 seconds before fading out. The thing I noticed the most was the intense red in the middle with a black spot with white illuminate particles going to the side especially where it look like it was flattening out to a point on both side as shown in the picture that I drew. The object appeared to be about 12,000 feet in elevation and approximately 5 or 6 miles south to southeast of Morgantown, WV. I estimate that the object was about the size of a 767 Boeing.

Investigator's Notes: I would have concluded that the witness saw a meteor except for the fact that he first noticed a dark object moving across sky and then explode. This is not characteristic behavior of meteors or re-entering space junk. Given available information I don't know what the witness saw.
