Location of Sighting: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Description (In Witness's Own Words): The witness reported his sighting when it was happening. He had risen from bed and noticed the bright light in the sky. He stated that the light was changing colors and appeared to be moving erratically. The witness did not know the direction of the light.

Investigator's Notes: Astronomical information indicates that the witness was observing the planet Jupiter. The apparent color change and "jumping movement" is due to an optical illusion called "autokinesis." This phenomenon occurs when one stares at an object for a period of time and produces an apparent jumping movement.
