Description (In Witness's Own Words): My boyfriend and I went for a short walk around the neighborhood. As we were walking down the parking lot of our apartment complex (which is long), I noticed two very bright, white lights in the northwestern part of the sky. They were probably as bright as the star Sirius, if not brighter. At first, they appeared stationary, like stars. Very soon after however, I noticed that they were both moving slowly. We stood still and watched as they kept moving across the night sky. They were perfectly aligned, one in front of the other, and kept the same distance apart the entire time as they moved across the night sky. There was no noise of any kind, although my guess is that they were pretty far off. I'm not very good at judging distance when it comes to objects in the sky. They didn't look like any type of plane or satellite that either of us had ever seen. They were just too bright. Once they got all the way across to the eastern part of the sky, they dimmed out just as lights with a dimming switch would. We did not see them again after that. The entire episode probably took about 7-10 minutes.
Investigator's Notes: A military reconnaissance satellite was visible at the time of the sighting. However, the witnesses say that they saw two lights. It is possible (though unlikely) that the lights were satellites given that they saw two lights. |
