The witness called and reported the sighting 3 days after it happened. He was viewing fireworks with a friend at the time that he saw the light. The fireworks were visible to the south, but he saw a bright red twinkling light to the west at an elevation of about 75 degrees above the horizon. The light hovered for the about 5 minutes, moved to the west, gained speed, and then disappeared over the horizon. The witness stated that the light disappeared and reappeared a few times before moving over the horizon. The light moved from the hovering position to below the western horizon in about 1 minute. The witness said that his sighting was similar to a sighting that occurred on January 1, 2006 in the same area. (Click here to read the report.) |
