Weather: Scattered Clouds at 9,500 Feet and Broken Clouds at 12,000 Feet. Visibility 10 Miles. Winds Were From the Southwest at 15 MPH.

Description (In Witness's Own Words): The sighting was at around 6:40 pm Pacific Time. I work often so email is the best way to reach me. I hope you can help explain what I saw! On September 2, 2007, my wife and I were driving east (just east of Winslow, AZ) on I-40 while on vacation. My wife spotted an extremely bright light in the sky. It was in southern sky and was kind of white/yellow against only the blue sky. It was much larger than a star. I watched as I drove. It stayed in the same spot the whole time. I told her to try to take some pictures of it and she was not able to take them fast enough. The light had some clouds move closer to it. This is when we took our pictures. The clouds moved in front of and behind it with it staying still the whole time. About 10 minutes after first spotting it a cloud moved in front of it and after the cloud went by it was gone and blue on the other side again. I do not know what exactly we saw, but I have never seen anything like it. It was much brighter than a star too. It was an amazing experience for both of us. In the picture, the light is reflecting down onto the cloud beneath it. One strange thing is that when I looked at the picture later there is an odd disc shaped object to the right of the light. We did not see that at the time, but we were focused on the light. The disc shaped object is almost exactly parallel with the light too. The second picture just has an odd shape that kind of looks like a cloud that we took at the same time. The light was what we were watching and had us most intrigued. I just wanted to share my experience. I reported this on the Mufon website. Also, if possible, I would like to have someone else's opinion on this. Thank you so much for your time!

Investigator's Notes: The photo was taken with a Panasonic DMC-FX01 digital camera (maximum resolution of 6 megapixels). I don't believe that the lights (bright objects) in the photo are parts of the clouds for two reasons: 1. The witnesses visually saw the bright object. 2. The bright spots are a different color than the surrounding cloud. Two other similar sightings occurred in Arizona on the same date.
