Weather: Few Clouds at 20,000 Feet. Visibility Was 10 Miles. Winds Were Calm.

Description: I received a phone call from a youth who was very excited by what he saw. He said that several friends and himself saw two large orange lights that appeared to be joined by a darker silhouetted object. They later saw another very large saucer shaped orange light. At that point they saw what appeared to be several military jets that were pursuing the lights. The witness stated that the aircraft activity was unusual. The aircraft activity was still going on when the witness called and reported the sighting.

Comments: This same witness reported a sighting on January 25, 2008. Click here to read about this sighting. His description is unusual, but it was difficult to obtain a very explicit description of what he saw as he was very excited by what he witnessed. Certainly military jets are a possibility because three major military bases are only a few miles northwest of Beachwood: Lakehurst Naval Air Station, McGuire Air Force Base and Fort Dix Military Reservation. I don't believe that the sighting is a hoax, but given the description it is difficult to grasp exactly what had happened. Anyone else in this area who witnessed unusual aerial activity is urge to file a report.
