Description: The witness left a voice-mail with his sighting report immediately after it occurred. I subsequently called him and obtained more details of his sighting. He stated he and his wife saw a very bright light hovering to the northwest over North Lake Tahoe. The light then moved, changed direction (arced) and then moved eastward. The light then faded to an orange-red color before disappearing. The witness said that he regularly sees aircraft in and out of Reno Airport. He said that this was no regular aircraft. He also is an avid meteor watcher and said that this was no meteor. Both witnesses viewed the object through 10 X 50 binoculars. The object appeared to be egg shaped through the binoculars.

Comments: The witness seemed to be quite knowledgeable and was familiar with aircraft, celestial objects and celestial phenomena. Given this scenario this sighting falls into the "unknown category."
